Hi, For the same situation, can S7-1500 be used in Multiprocessor Mode? ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ |

Hello syd; The largest, most powerful CPU928 (the CPU 928B) had 64 kB of work memory, non-expandble, for code and data. This is why Siemens proposed ways of coordinating more than one CPU to control a large process (the coordination module 923c). The smallest CPU of the S7-1500 family (the S7-1510) has more program memory (for code) than 2 CPU 928B, see the screencapture below taken from the sSemens Industry Mall: https://mall.industry.siemens.com/mall/en/WW/Catalog/Products/10204208?tree=CatalogTree If you decide to replace your S5 controller setup with any of the current S7-1500 CPUs you should not need to use multicomputing (multiple controllers sharing the load of a project on a single rack). You should be able to reprogram the project in a single processor. In any case, s7-1500 does not have the multicomputing option. The only S7 family that does is the S7-400: What is multicomputing mode and what are the differences to operating in the segmented subrack? Hope this helps, Daniel Chartier |
