Can't download to KTP 700... can ping it????

Hi guys.

I have a problem. I can see and ping a KTP 400 Comfort panel in my TIA Portal, however, when I press download button TIA Portal assigns me a IP adress and tries to donwload my project to panel but I get error message "Connection Failed - The selected online target could not be reached". What could be the problem?? IP adress of my PC is in the same subnet as the IP adress of the panel and the correct IP adress is set up in Device configuration in TIA Portal.

you should be sure about WINCC tia version which the panel had downloaded.

If it had downloaded with WINCC tia portal V13 SP1 you should make an update

It has not been loaded with V13 SP1. I managed to donwload a project to it 2 months ago, but now I can't... dont know what changed. My software is the same and panel wasnt touched with???

Even an "innocent" update of a regular updated anti-virus / firewall can cause issues. I have had an unrelated issue with Siemens software and my anti-virus some 2 weeks back. Luckily the files were not deleted, but stored in 'quarantine" where I could restore it.

Maybe try something more simple first. Have a look at your PCs IP address. Try to set that to a fixed address that is in the range that your HMI expects. See if there is any change in this.

..and make sure you have a look at the system settings of the HMI to make sure what the IP settings are set to.

These ideas will probably not be useful - so do come back with the result.

I already have a good IP adress on my computer... I can ping the panel, go online to it, I just cant download or connect to it (dont know how I can be online in it but cant connect to it... what does that mean).

Does anybody know how I can perform factory reset for the panel. I tried using Simatic ProSave but it says "Status: The selected image cannot be installed." but I choose KTP 400 image from TIA Portal folder??? I really dont know how to make this panel working???

Yes, the comfort was selected.

But I solved my orginal problem. In transfer settings in Panel it was selected "Ethernet" and it should have been "PN/IE".... so yeah....

I had the same problem.. pinged OK, but couldnt downlad to KPT 1200..

Worked ok at my office, but after it was mounted at the custumer, I couldnt download..

I had to change the fixed IP on the panel (from 192.168.0.2 to 192.168.0.3) and it could be found, and download worked as well..

after that I tried to change back to 192.168.0.102, and it worked ok as well...

I Don't know why this problem occured, but after the IP-adress adjustment, it was ok

Go to HMI Settings ->transfer settings ->ensure that automatic is on
