Lezz Posts: 65 Rating: (0)	Dear All, In case of insatalling CAS Siemens showing a procedure in this link https://support.automation.siemens.com/WW/llisapi.dll?func=ll&objid=37022157&nodeid0=21394432&lang=en&siteid=cseus&aktprim=0&objaction=csopen&extranet=standard&viewreg=WW#V7.1 .But while I was going to install CAS in PCS7 V7.1 SP2 ,I did not find this options in PCS7. ABN Posts: 212 Rating: (12)	hi. Please select "package installation" and there you will find the open "CAS". also, you want to install CAS with PCS7 or WinCC, as for WinCC you need to have a seperate CD.

Regards DearJOTST, I have installed my wincc and it's component six month ago .But suddenly few weeks ago I got new requirement from client that they need at least one year back trend and message.Now I am seeking what are the options I have for showing at least one year back trend and alarm and message for analysis and how it can be managed?Have you got my situation at the end of the completion. WinCC has the facility to dump the segments into a backup location. you can store these archives for as long as the storage media can be maintained in good condition. In the Alarm logging and tag logging editors, there is a facility to attach and detach previous archive segments. in the archive configuration in these two editors, you only need to specify the path where the segments should be transfered. this should be sufficient. CAS has a minimum licence of 1500 tags, this should give you an idea about the potential scenario that would justify the use CAS cost-wise as well as system complexity-wise.

Dear Yoga Shankar, In our project there are 605 archived tags and amongst them 50 slow archived tags as it is a big system in future it may add 100 tags more .In our porject storage plus licese has purchased. As per your suggestion I think we dont need to go for CAS but storage plus may be a good option for managing archived tags and alarm and we have also storageplus license in hand. What is your opinion ? But there is some problen with storageplus configuration with redundant OS server,how can I configure storageplus with redundant OS? If you have any idea please send me. ABN Posts: 212 Rating: (12)	hi, Firts of all use of CAS or Storage plus depends on requirement of the "Customer". As inversely suggested by Yogashankar its nothing to do with the no of process archives. If you have 100 process archives, then also you can go ahead with the CAS. CAS dont have any restorction on minimum no. of process archives it can use. Only difference between CAS and Storage plus is no of Servers tp which eitehr CAS or storage plus can communicate to and how speedly CAS can store the archives from the Servers. the entire information asked by you are already been answered by me in /tf/WW/en/Posts/58267 Also, option suggetsed in one of the previous thread of using "connect" and "disconnect" option of process archives is not relaesed for PCS7 yet. Please let me know if you need anything else
