Channel Redundancy Problem

Nithin Posts: 48 Rating: (0)	Hello , We are using S7 -414H CPU with SM modules on ET 200 m racks in I/O Redundancy. While configuring Channel Redundancy CPU goes to stop.I am attaching the Diagnostic buffer along with this as I can't understand the problem. The same system works perfetly on Modular Redundancy. Now I tried the Library IO_CGP_V50 and this problem occured. I checked for the IO cards for their Channel Redundancy Support and they are supportng it. So may be the program is missing something. I wrote program like this OB 1 à FB450 RED_IN ( DB16 ) à My FCs and My FBs à FB451 RED_OUT ( DB17) OB 72 (RED_FLT) à FC450 RED_INIT à FC451 RED_DEPA à FB452 RED_DIAG ( DB18 ) OB 82 (I/O_FLT1) à FC451 RED_DEPA à FB452 RED_DIAG ( DB19 ) OB 83 (I/O_FLT2) à FC451 RED_DEPA à FB452 RED_DIAG ( DB20 ) OB 86 (RACK_FLT) à FC451 RED_DEPA OB 87 (COMM_FLT) à FC451 RED_DEPA OB 100 à FC450 RED_INIT OB 102 à FC450 RED_INIT OB 122 (MOD_ERR) à FC451 RED_DEPA I need to know what I am doing wrong Thanks in advance Nithin Attachment Diagnose - Notepad.pdf (342 Downloads)

Phantom75 Posts: 2661 Rating: (279)	Hi, Can you confirm that the version of the red_io blocks is 4.x? V50 sounds suspicious. Also, have you changed the Passivation behavior in the H Parameters tab in CPU properties to "By channels"? If above are ok, increase the local data of priority class 25 & 28 to at least 1280 since the local data requirement for the CGP blocksis higher. Regards

Nithin Posts: 48 Rating: (0)	Hi, Thanks for the reply. The version is correct. I got it from Step 7 v 5.4 Professional . And the selection of Channel redundancy in Hardware can only be done in a PCS7 project. Mine is a Step 7 project. There is something else wrong in this. Is the calling of various FCs and FBs correct? And we are using 4-20 mA for AIs. Does this create some problem ? Regards, NITHIN

ABN Posts: 212 Rating: (12)	Hi Nitin, Please go through the Chapter No. 8.4 of S7 400H manual for Fault tollerant system. Here the settings and FB calls procedure is clearly defined for IO redundancy. I have tried this and it works. Also I think Channel level redudnacy is not suitable with Step 7 5.4 its only with PCS7 and special library Your selected version of Step 7 allows only module level redundancy. .. Please correct me if wrong . thanks, Ashish

Nithin Posts: 48 Rating: (0)	Hai all, At last i found the problem. In the diagnostic buffer, There was an entry about the less memory allocation to a specific priority class ( 28 i think.) So I increased it to 512 from 256 and the fault was gone. Now the system is working with full channel redundancy.

The setting is not in the diagnostic buffer! It is in the memory tab of the CPU properties as I pointed out in my earlier post (had you cared to read it more carefully!). Regards

But now Analog Outputs have stopped working, ie, they give half half values on normal working , But if one fails, the other don't go to full value. Any suggestions? Also what will be the digital count for AI channels which are switched off, I mean whether it will take 0 or last scan value? eg : IW 200 and IW 500 are redundant pairs. If IW 500 get switched off, what does cpu read from IW 500 for comparison with IW 200? Regards Nithin
