Thanks for your response, PLC has no code in OB but the tags have been created in the memory areas matching the transfer areas to Profibus I then added IO fields mapped to those PLC tags so HMI is writing to PLC memory under I/Q areas which are set as transfer areas in the CM1542-5. That should be OK as I used the same thing in the past. "What are the expected values coming from the 2 PB remote I/O devices right after power up and PLC startup? Are you receiving them?" - No, I don't think that data exchange is established (from CM1542-5 manual): [Station_Not_Ready The DP slave is not ready for productive data exchange. This is a temporary status that cannot be influenced by the DP master.]
Those CM1542-5s are powered up and have red light flashing. PB network on teh master side is configured to match including master at addr1 and two slaves with addresses 17 and 18 using the GSD file from Siemens. Slave module transfer areas are configured under master using blocks from GSD to match the transfer areas of the salves in TIA. Master can detect those slaves when connected but it receives the diagnostic status of Station_not_ready which seems to be a problem on the slave side. PLC screen diagnostic allowed me to go onto each CM1542-5 and it shows the red X nect to module and each transfer area. When I clicked on the transfer area itself it shows module state: not reachable (see attached) AttachmentProfibus_diagnostic.zip (357 Downloads) |
