Communication between Pneumax Magnetic Sensor and S7 300.

kid237 Posts: 158 Rating: (3)	Hi, I amtrying tomake the PneumaxMagnetic Sensor to communicate with Siemens PLC (S7 300), but i am not sure about the cable pinouts.The code number for the Magnetic Sensor is 1320.3DC. J_Bell Posts: 5822 Rating: (412)	Hi Suren, I am sorry but none of these devices have a Network interface... why do you post this question at Communication an Networking... and furthermore why do you ask Siemens about it? I would ratherask Pneumax what type of Interface you need. Ipersonally guess that you need a Analogue Input..but what do I know. Best regards J_Bell

Ok actually i think it is difficult to make it communicate, but it ispossible to use the Digital Input Module to power up the Magnetic Sensor. Do you have any idea on ow i can connect them?? For the Digital Input i onlyhave 2 wires(Life & neutral). So do you haveany suggestions on how i could connect these two wires to the digital input?? Regards.

J_Bell Posts: 5822 Rating: (412)	Hello, sorry, now I see it, you should use a DC 24 V Digital Input I guess for the d.c. Type Interface. The power you may supply is 24 V DC. You should use a Load on the Input because the units seem to allow only up to 1.2 A (for the d.c. Version) so please verify the information of the Digital Input you use and calculate a max power of a view hundred mA. You will have to use an additional Resistor as a load... Good luck! J_Bell

kid237 Posts: 158 Rating: (3)	Hi, I have a small doubt on how to connect the Magnetic Sensor to the Digital Input Module. I am kind of confused with the positive and negative polarity for the digital input. can you help guide me on which pin of the digital input should i connect the positive of the sensor and the negative of the sensor? As far as i know, pin 1 is positve and pin 40 is negative (for he Digital Input.) So where should i connect the sensor??
