COMMUNICATION OF S7 400 H CPU WITH MP 377 THROUGH ETHERNET LINK

SolutionFinder Posts: 559 Rating: (87)	Can Anyone help me about this problem? I have S7 400 h system (CPU 412-3H) And only one MP 377. This Cpu has only one MPI/DP port which already has been used with ET stations. Now I have 2 CPs for Each CPU (CP 443-1). I want communicate my MP 377 with these redundant system through these CP. I followed the FAQ for "Connection of OP to H cpus without repeater" But the "Change connection Function" at the High limit of Tag used over there only supports MPI/DP address. It does not support the ethernet IP address. So plz help me how can I go further with hardware solution or software solution for Ethernet link? Thank u all. Waiting for ur reply.

I mean you must configure only one CPU with Rack 0 and Slot 0 and chose Ethernet profile. After all that you can connect your OP using ethernet switch. Maybe this will work ? In that case you do not need any change connection function in your OP. The only disadvantage is that you can't see all tags form step 7 project, becouse this OP must be not connected to any network (just look at FAQ https://support.automation.siemens.com/WW/llisapi.dll?func=cslib.csinfo&lang=en&objid=22584322&caller=view, especially section "Connection setup for operator panels to the S7-400 CPU:") Unfortunally I cant test this by myself and don't know if you could do this using Ethernet. There is another option for you. You can extend your MPI/PROFIBUS line and connect OP as the last device on the line and use RS 485 repeater as decribed in FAQ. Simply you can "skip" these ET or other devices and connect OP as last device on line. That would be simpliest way. So try first option if this not work for Ethernet, use second option which 100% will be working. Good luck. Regards,

J_Bell Posts: 5822 Rating: (412)	Hello, I am sorry but for Ethernet is a solution like for PROFIBUS or MPI not possible. I personally guess you have to set up two Connections, one to each PLC part system. That way you establish a Connection to both CPUs and you have to figure out which of the PLC’s is active right now. Maybe you use one of the Signal Bytes of the OB1 of each H-CPU to figure out which CPU is really running at that moment. But a Solution with a Switch will not work because the MAC Address of the CPU will be different, even if the IP is the same, so you will have to wait until your MP goes to Timeout before it establishes a new Connection to the second CPU. And when turning down the aging-time to 5 seconds? Another way is maybeusing a PC with a CP16x3 and RedConnect with WinCC Flexible?

If u execute the function than it shows the ERROR $ 70030. Which says configuration Problem. Also U can't connect CPU with Random Slot no. And Rack No.And With Random IP with One ethernet Switch. So I found the solution for the problem. I found the solution through multiplex tag. I made internal tags for index. Wrote the script to check master Cpu. And then according to master I changed I tags for the perticular connection. So Again Thanks to all THANKS & REGARDS, DIVYESH BHAGVATI

You will need the WinCC flexible 2008to run it with Ethernet too but it will work. Check this FAQ: How can you connect an operator panel directly to an H system without using repeaters? Sindhu Posts: 163 Rating: (0)	I followed all the steps in the given link.I have set the IP address of CP443-1 AS 192.168.0.10 of primary CPU and 192.168.0.11 for CP443-1 of secondary CPU,for touch panel as 192.168.0.4 AND SUBNET mask of all the three is 255.255.255.0. When i force a value im unable to see it on my touch panel which means there is no comm between H station and Touch panel.What could be the expected problem also tell me why the rack0/1 master state of FB523 IS MOVED in BYTE and used in Wincc flexible for change connection.Im not able to move the bit to a byte(and to the first bit of the byte)
