Hello Reverendo; We used PI as a historian to a PCS 7 system recently, and the connection was done using OPC DA(actually, the Open PCS 7 package). It seems that OsiSoft proposes the same for S7 PLCs, using the Software Toolbox OPC server. Have a look at this link for OsiSoft: http://www.osisoft.com/templates/Interface-Detail.aspx?lid=11965 By the way, there are many different interfaces you can look at between PI and Siemens in the OsiSoft pages, for example here: http://www.osisoft.com/templates/interfaces-list.aspx?id=2780 Hope this helps, Daniel Chartier |

Hello Reverendo; Basically, from memory, that is the way it was setup, using the OPC server attached to Industrial Ethernet products. Have a look here at how the OPC Foundation describes the applications for Siemens Simatic Net OPC servers; OPC DA is marked as tested as of versions 2.0 and 3.0: http://www.opcfoundation.org/Products/ProductDetails.aspx?CM=1&RI=412&CU=17 Hope this helps, Daniel Chartier |

HelloDaniel Thanks a lot, your hints have been very useful. Now the job is stopped, but if I will need again, I will hear it again. Reverendo.
