Hello moa Using Get/Put in the S7-400 to "get/"put"data from/to the S7-1200 should(will) work, you'd need to create a so called unilateral S7 connection in NetPro ofthe S7 400 for it with "unspecified" as the the connection Partner. Have a lookatWhat should you watch out for when configuring an unspecified S7 connection for data communication between an S7-300 and an S7-400? which explains how to configure it and what to look out for in this case and note that a 1200 CPU's "Slot" number (used for the TSAP) is always "1". Additionally, you will hopefully also find the attached compendium useful which contains the possible conections that can be made between a 1200 and a 400: CPU-CPU communication with SIMATIC controllers I hope this helps |

Hello again moa I must admit, I never tried/used a pure MAC address based S7 connections between S7 PLC's, but say it should work (S7 communications use the available Services of the transport layer, be it FDL on Profibus, TCP/IP on Ethernet or even ISO on Ethernet if only MAC addresses are configured). Not too sure what's wrong in this case (could be as simple as a wrong/mistyped MAC address or typo in the Partner details of the unspecified connection), I suggestyou upload your S7 400 project for evaluation? |

Hello moa the NetPro link configuration looks fine to me, can you check/try the following: 1.) Activate the GET call in your program and see if it works (the connection should be automatically established even without the GET call active, but I can't rememberif the connection status in NetPro reflects this properly orif your 'is being set up' message in NetPro may just be a bit misleading). 2.) If that doesn'thelp, verify that the pysical connection between the 400 and 1200 is ok and that there is norouter in between (ISOprotocol is not routeable). 3.) Have you donwloaded NetPro completely or only the "Connections and Gateways" (to avoid a CPU restart) after you added the new link to it? (if the latter is the case and if you can afford a CPU restart, it won't hurt to do a complete download). 4.)Ladt try:Give the CP443-1 an IP address (kep the MAC adddress too) and try a link with IP addresses instead of MAC addreses (your existing ISO links won't be affected by this). I hope this helps and please let us know the result. |
