Connection between PC station and PLC (S7-1500)

Hi all,

I'm trying to get a connection between a PC station and my PLC (S7-1500).

I'm using TIA Portal V13 and Siemens Simatic NET V12.

I can see my connection in OPC Scout V10 but when i'm trying to open a data block, this object is empty.

Further I can see at "OPC.SimaticNET" at status the following: "The server is running normalliy". 

And in my software in TIA Portal V13 I have the following (see attachment)

Can someone please help me?

Dear ,

Plz check the protection setting of S7 1500 CPU properties. By default it is disable , you have to enable this GET/PUT communication. Find the attached screen shot. Also use the absolute DB for testing.

You must enable S7-1500 (Allow GET/PUT connections).

SIMATIC NET V12/V13 PC software uses by default S7 optimized connections for S7-1500 and S7-1200 V4.0. Optimized S7 connections allows to use optimized Data blocks. But this communication is only allowed in OPC UA.

In order to keep using regular S7 connections, you must select OPC Server 8.2 in the PC station (specified partner) or set unspecifed partner with OPC Server V12. Regular S7 connections can be used under OPC UA/DA.

You just need to know where to find information, Siemens website is huge.

Siemens technical support is awesome and save me so much time.

Please see attach file, it is a procedure to connect an OPC server with S7-1200 and it is relatively the same with S7-1500.

There is also Youtube video about this.

You can also find lots of information into the manual of SIMATIC Net V12.
