CONNECTION BETWEEN S7-300 CPU315-2PN/DP AND PAC3200

duy_np Posts: 22 Rating: (0)	DEAR SIEMENS, I HAVE A PROJECT HAVE TO GET DATA FROM TWO PAC 3200 (MULTIMETER) TO S7-300 CPU315-2PN/DP VIA ETHERNET NETWORK. I CONFIG FOR PAC3200 WITH ADDRESS IS 192.168.1.10 AND 192.168.1.11 AND THEY ARE MODBUS TCP. PLEASE HELP ME HOAW CAN I GET DATA ON PLC, WHAT FUNCTION AND CONFIG I HAVE TO DO ON PLC. THANKS NPD.

Kaulquappe Posts: 3093 Rating: (323)	Hello duy_np, just have a look at the example project MODBUS_PN_CPU_EXAMPLE. Choose the Simatic station "S7 300(client)". Here you can see how to call the Modbus block. The values of PAC are holding registers, so you have to select data_type = 3 at the Modbus block. You can find the register addresses PAC uses in the PAC manual. Note: some values of PAC have got the length 2 registers. They can only be written altogether. Regards, Kaulquappe

pachu Advanced Member Joined: 7/15/2011 Last visit: 8/8/2024 Posts: 48 Rating: (0)	Kaulquappe Block library for Modbus/TCP communication via the integrated PN interface of a SIMATIC CPU Hello, I have TIA V14 - CPU 315-2PN DP and measuring module PAC 3200-7KM2112-0BA0-3AA0. i tried the sample program given in this thread. in the sample program it ask to set the ID , I set the ID as 64 in the logic, but only thing I could set in PAC 3200 is the IP and the protocol as MODBUS.TCP, This is the first time I am doing Modbus communication, so not sure how to proceed to get the voltages and current in the PLC data block. Is licence a mandatory for this protocol. Also in one of the pdf files I read the "can use the MODBUS function codes 0x03 and 0x04 on all the measured variables listed", what does this mean, how should I use this 0X03 in the program to get the values. Please help
