control of 6x stepper motors and 6x ABZ encoders?

alvr Posts: 21 Rating: (0)	Hello. I have base experiences only with S7-1200 and even with control of 2 stepper motors through this CPU and control instructions (MC_Movexxxx, ..) in the Step7 V11. Now I want to drive 6 stepper motors and control their 6 ABZ encoders. I think that it could not only with S7-1200 CPU (and SB1222 module). I studied others solutions (without experiences) and I would like to consult this ways:? 1) S7-1200 system with ET200S and PROFINET CPU 1214C IM151-3 PN 6x 1STEP modules 6x 1POS U modules 2) S7-300 system with ET200S and PROFINET CPU 315-2 PN/DP IM151-3 PN 6x 1STEP modules 6x 1POS U modules 3) S7-300 system CPU 315-2 PN/DP 6x FM350-1 (counter for encoder) 6x FM353 (stepper control) or 3x FM351 (stepper control + counter) or 6x FM354 (stepper control + counter) 4) other solution....? Please, can you give me advices which way is good and wrong? I have not yet any experiences with S7-300 and ET200S. First I need recomend right way, then I will learn and try programming it.... I have questions: -if I will use ET200S system, are the 1STEP module good choice for control of stepper motor and 1POS U for ABZ encoders? -if I will use only S7-300 system, are the FM353 module good choice for control of stepper motor and FM350-1 for ABZ encoders? -there is also FM351,FM354 modules, are this type for control stepper motor and for ABZ encoders together? I am not sure from manuals. -Which control instructions from TIA can I use for control ABZ encoders through 1POS U, FM350-1 or FM354 modules? I didnt find good instrictions. Thanks very much for every advices!

Denilson Pegaia Platinum Member Joined: 9/23/2005 Last visit: 11/12/2024 Posts: 4352 Rating: (1452)	Hi, the right choise should be made in some personal details, like familiarity with producs, own standards, spare parts management, etc. Some suggestions: 1 - Once you have already know how about S7-1200, think about the possibility to split the application in two S7-1200 CPU (with communication by GET/PU for slow necessities or Profibus master/slave for high speed/low data). 2 - If you go to ET200S world think about to use a ET200S CPU (e.g. IM157-8). I think it is better as to use two different product families (300/1200 + ET200S). However, remenber that the ET200S line has no "technological way" (OPEN PLC Bloks, like S7-1200)to do it. That means that you will should make many evaluations by user program.

I know only SB1223 or SB1221, but its has not enough numbers of input (I need 6x inputs for ABZ encoders) Do you knoy any documents/manuals about getting started with split two 1200 systems? 2) You mean IM151-8? I dont know about IM157-8. However mean you ET200S system with CPU, right? 3) Can I use technological objects (Axis) and instructions (MC_MoveAbsolute, etc,...) from S7-1200 when I will use S7-1200 CPU and ET200S without CPU+HW technological modules? Denilson Pegaia Platinum Member Joined: 9/23/2005 Last visit: 11/12/2024 Posts: 4352 Rating: (1452)	Hi, The S7-1200 CPU haven't PROFIBUS ports but you can use CM to do it (as master or as slave) There is no High Speed counter that should be uses as expansion module for S7-1200 (in central rack) Sorry, I mean IM151-8, ET200S CPU You can get examples of communication in the forum at https://www.automation.siemens.com/BR/tf/WW/en/Posts/68281 You can just useuse technological objects (Axis) and instructions (MC_MoveAbsolute, etc,...) with internal inputs / outputs of the CPU (or SB)
