copying password protected MMC

Manishkools Posts: 50 Rating: (1)	we are using some pre programmed s7-315 cpus. the program of cpu is password protected we don't have any kind of backup of the program. can we copy the program from the memory card to another memory card without opening it

This is not possible with all prommers and PC-PCMCIA interfaces. Look at follow order number description 6ES7792-0AA00-0XA0 SIMATIC PG, USB PROMMER 115/220V (USB prommer for Memory Cards (MC) and Micro Memory Cards (MMC)) Regards

Aret Posts: 2348 Rating: (264)	You local Siemens representative is almost right - it was only 1 version of Step7, which allowed such thing (not sure i call exact number). Now it Siemens reader can't be used for such purpose. Initially i didn't mean Siemens soft/hardware. I mean ordinary software (WinHex or someting like) and ordinary card-reader. You can then perform byte-by-byte copy. Please ensure you copy "physically" - i.e. sector by sector and not "logicaly" - i.e. copying partition.
