Hello everybody, I used CPU 224 that has 6 HSC inputs in my application but I needed 8 HSC inputs. What I can do to extend my CPU to get 2 HSC inputs more? |

Hello Macltj; Based on the technical specs of the S7-200 CPUs, as shown in the attachment, taken from the S7-200 System Manual: S7-200 System Manual there are no S7-200 CPUs that can handle more than 6 single-phase HSC (or 4 two-phase); the HSC cannot be expanded. The only way to add 2 HSC would be to add a second CPU (possibly a CPU 221 or 222, it has 4 HSC available) to handle these counters, and use a PPI network (with Netr/Netwr instructions)between the 2 CPUs to send synchronization signals, if required: when a counter on the S7-222 reaches a specific setpoint send a signal to the CPU-224, and let this CPU take action... Hope this helps, Daniel Chartier |
