CPU S7 1200 Led STOP/ERROR constantly flashing

I think problem is with RS485. PLC firmware is 2.0 RS485 firmware 1.0 I have loaded v1.0 modbus rtu (master) and v1.0 (load) If i i'm trying in MAIN OB call all blocks at once, then after power of-power on i get STOP/ERROR So i try to call all FC then -\|/\|- first cycle. Load and master i call after 30s after -\|/\|- first cycle. So after that i get STOP/ERROR not every time, but sometimes. After that error i reset to factory and then upload program again. But problem is not solved. Maybe somebody has any idea? p.s PLC 1214C DC/DC/DC firmware 2.0 Attachment Diagnostics.pdf (710 Downloads)

But problem is not solved. Maybe somebody has any idea? p.s PLC 1214C DC/DC/DC firmware 2.0 What TIA Portal version are you running? I have seen others have similar problems. If you upgrade TIA Portal V11 to SP1 and add update 2, then the PC is the current latest. If you update the PLC FW to 2.1 then your PLC is running the current/latest. If you do those things and the problem goes away, great. If you do not perform the updates, you may have other problems. Do you know you can create a diagnostic OB 82, and even if you put nothing in it, with version 2.x, the PLC will not crash for most anything??? Is your PLC set to RUN after power on? It sounds like it is set up to run after power is applied, but does not hurt to ask. The very first thing to do would be the firmware update as that may fix the memory corrupt diag buffer entries.

Banginis123 Experienced Member Joined: 11/25/2010 Last visit: 11/28/2023 Posts: 20 Rating: (9)	I'm using tia portal SP1 upd 1. PLC firmware 2.0 I have created OB82 and checked to call OB82 Set warm restart - mode before POWER OFF (i have been choose warm restart - RUN, but nothing changed)

So after test i can calculate results: PLC firmware 2.03 Load block v 2.0 Master block v1.0 If after communication with frequency converter i got error and error is going out, connection (between PLC and frequency converter) is established. BUT after PLC restart, PLC goes to Stop with Error. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- PLC firmware 2.03 Load block v2.0 Master block v2.1 (or 2.0) If after communication with frequency converter i got error and error is going out, only one connection is established (the first comunication) the second comunication gets only errors. After PLC restart, PLC restarts without stop and error. It goes to work, but only with one comunication. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- PLC firmware 2.1.2 Load block v2.0 Master block v2.1 (or 2.0) Results come some as test with PLC firmware 2.03 Load block v2.0 Master block v2.1 (or 2.0) --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- PLC firmware 2.1.2 Load block v2.0 Master block v1.0 Results - some as test with PLC firmware 2.03 Load block v 2.0 Master block v1.0 but PLC do not get error. Only STOP. And can't go to run while not done factory reset -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- So i think is need to use master block v2.0 (or 2.1) and if after some time i do not get done (from Master block) is need to reestablish connection between Load block... (Didn't try yet)

The Load block you only need to call in Startup-OB to configure your RS485 modul. Did you parameterzied correct HW-ID of RS485 modul at load block? Also only use blocks with version 2.0 together if you have Firmware 2.x. Do not mix 1.0 and 2.0. Please install also TIA v11 update 2 (http://support.automation.siemens.com/WW/view/en/52258326) and take latest firmware 2.1.2 (http://support.automation.siemens.com/WW/view/en/38693794)

It might be helpful to post the critical parts of your PLC program that are failing or suspect are causing or contributing to the CPU crash/corruption problems.
