Dowloading program to PLC

Hi All,

I have 2 questions while downloading a program to PLC controller.

Please see attached picture with red circles.

1. what is the error in CPU?

2. I see many SFC, SFB, FC and FB grenerated which are not in the original program blocks. Why and what is used for?

You can check CPU error in diagnostic buffer.

Select CPU and press short cut key Ctrl+D for diagnostic buffer.

Yes it is normal.

It will shows blocks in Load Memory (Memory Card) after downloading program in CPU.

e.g Function ,Function Block and Data base.

Also System Function and System Function Block and System Data base present in online CPU.

Hello JL99, good day.

Remember that when you go online, what you are looking at is to the content of the controllers' load memory, not your programming device, so its possible to find some blocks that might no even been used, if you stop using a block because you replace it with some other better user functions and forget to delete the block that is not going to be used anymore, that unused block will stay there in the controller.

Also, blocks starting with an "S", are system blocks, SFB, SFC, SDB, system blocks are part of your CPU, and are generated when you compile your hardware configuration, thus, downloaded to your controller when you download your station. Also system functions may vary depending of the CPU, some of them have more functions available than other ones.
