Drive and motor selection

Hi,

I need to select the motor and drive for constant load ,no slipping application,after a lot of searching some how i confirmed the motor would be synchronous motor and the drive is simotics s120. The question is only controlling factor in the machine is speed. for that application simotics s120 drive  is costlier .so please suggest the suitable machine

It really depends on your application - it is not only about the hardware but also about which software features does the drive support. 

So please send more info on what kind of mechanics / process your drive is working on.

Application related to rotate the shaft coupled with load.

Motor and shaft are coupled with belt pulley.

 Respected conditions are,

there should not be any slipping.

the speed going to vary to achieve the set load

rated load is 26 Nm

I am asking because you wanted to go for SINAMICS S120, which is the high performance drive and now it sounds more like a simple belt application - for those use cases we have other drives like SINAMICS G series. 

Do you have special requirements regarding Safety functions? 

You know I am asking all this because we have a variety of different drives with different capabilities for different application requirements. So it does not make sense to ask which drive can run my motor? The software features behind will bring the right choice.

actually it is load testing application by using constant speed. so the positioning is not required.

in my application, the load is directly proportional to the speed.

that means, the  system starting load is zero, and the load will be increase respect to the speed.
so the motor speed should not be slip in the high load (or high speed).

our requirements for motor:
rated speed =  3000 RPM
Rated torque = 25 Nm at 3000 RPM
Power = 5.5 - 7.5 Kw
Synchronous brush less servo motor
High Performance

our requirements for Drive:
Continuous motion
High performance
Speed Control

We have selected the motor is 1FK7086-4SF71-1QB0. now we are searching the suitable drive for our application.

Please suggest suitable Drive in G series. because S120 drive is too expensive. and if you have other selection of motor, pl suggest the servo motor too.

Ok, yeah with your requirements for high dynamics and servo motor I guess you should go for the combination 1FK7 motor + SINAMICS S120 drive system - this is typical for testing applications. 

An S120 could be a single axis system consisting of Control Unit CU310-2 and Power Module PM240-2. (-> no energy feedback possible - in case of braking energy a braking resistor is required).

Or it could be build up as a multiaxis system consisting of Control Unit CU320-2, Infeed module (Active Line Module, Smart Line Module or Basic Line Module - depending on your needs regarding energy feedback) and Motor Module(s).

The dimensioning of the components can be done using the Tool "Sizer" - with that one you will find the proper size of power modules / motor modules etc.
