Editable text field / IO field in WinCC flex , TIA Portal V11.5

ASTECH Posts: 45 Rating: (0)	Dear all, I thoughtthat this would be easy, but some how I cannot find the solution neither answer among the otherthreads. I am using the descriptions of my project components, like valves, motors etc. In severalscreens made in WinCC flexI refer to these components. Inother words in one screen they are lised in one column, in other they are placed in the layout of the machine etc. I would like to make the central screen withall the names as editable text fileds / IO fields. If I edit the name hier then that name will be changed in all places where it is used. I thought that I can just make a DB with list of my devices with CHAR or String as the Data Type and later on, use IO field assign to the tags, tags would be obviouslycorresponding with those fields in my DB. But nothing works as it should be. Or it works OK but I am using it wrong. I would like to use numbers andletters ( also capital letters ). Is there any solutionthat allows me to do it so simple or I need to use scripts or anyothers advanced methods? Thanks in advance.

Nowyoucan create a tag in WinCC flexible using thisDB.You can chose the STEP 7 symbolic in the column"symbol" in the tag table. Now you drag and drop this tag in the screen of WinCC flexible. Tweety

ASTECH Posts: 45 Rating: (0)	Hallo Tweety, Thank you for your reply. I did wat youask me to do, I created DB with variables of data type STRING. I use HMI tags that refer to these variables in the DB. My project is also integrated, this is TIA Portal V11,5 , so PLC / HMI are integrated in one project. But I made a mistake,I used "Symbolic IO field" , and when I use "IO field " Ican indeed choose that DBvar of STRING as a tag. I have no screen totest it but myproject is susccesfully compiled without errors. With"Symbolic IO field"I gotalways an error during compilation. But what do you mean with "You can chose the STEP 7 symbolic in the column "symbol" in the tag table." ? Where can I find that column "symbol" , because that is not there ?

Tweety This is the description which you need if you use WinCC flexible and STEP 7. There is nota version TIA Portal V11,5. Which software do you use? Which panel do you use? Tweety

There is not such thing as TIA Portal V11.5 , I installed it some day and was sure that there was a version number 11.5 written on theinstall DVDbox I am using: TIA Portal V11 SP2 Update 3 , STEP7 Basic V11 SP2 Update 3 and WinCC BasicV11 SP2 Update 3. Tha panel was KTP400 Basic PN , 6AV6647-0AK11-3AX0 , ver. 11.0.2.
