Encoder Value Changed After Power ON/OFF

Hello.

I am facing problem-related with Absolute Encoder (4FX2001-5QN25) communication on profinet.

We are using this encoder value to our logic and calibrating the slide height adjustment. 1st I was thinking that problem is in our programming but actual it was happening due to actual value changing of the encoder. We have suffering this problem since last 2 months. Can you please tell me how is it possible that actual encoder value got changed after power on off. I have attached pics of encoder values and encoder HW pic.

pls, how we can help you if you don't provide correct type of encoder? Sry but I can't find your encoder via your specific nymber.

Assume you meant 6FX2001-5QN25.

The encoder does not have an infinite number of turns.  If the direction is always in one direction, eventually it will trip over and restart from 0 (at around 16,384 turns I think).

Knowing the system like you do, will that take a while, or will that happen very quickly?

If the encoder is going + and - direction all the time, if you happen to set the system up with the 0 point somewhere within the normal movement range, it will trip over that limit all the time.

For a +/- operation, initial setup should be close to midpoint of the 16384 turns.

For a single direction, it should be something slightly above 0 and you need to develop a way to handle the eventual trip over and reset to 0 (in software).
