Facing issues while opening the excel file

Hi,

Dear Experts,

I used the Siemens "Create_S7DB" excel file to create the automatic DB on simatic manager 5.6sp1. but, while opening the excel file i'm facing the below issues.

1. while opening excel its showing 2 pop-up

a)"Couldn't load some objects because they are not available in this machine".

b)"Please install Step7 or modify Autoexec.bat: SET PATH= %PATH%;DRIVE:\SIEMENS\STEP7\S7BIN;"

2. step7 simatic manager v5.6sp1 and MS-excel is already installed in the same PG.

please help me to resolve this.

Hello Vijay.k,

check whether the internal STEP 7 database was started when the PC was booted and also the function Start/stop server in the SIMATIC workstation. For this, in Windows you open the dialog "Start > SIMATIC > STEP 7 > Configure SIMATIC workstation". In order to be able to start the internal STEP 7 database, the following entries must be available and executed in the autoexec.bat in Win95/98:

• SET PATH=.......,C:\SIEMENS\COMMON\SQLANY";PATH%;........

• SET SQLANY=C:\SIEMENS\common\Sqlany

• SET S7TMP=C:\SIEMENS\STEP7\S7TMP

There is an application in the internet with the example “Automatic generation of an S7 data block with STEP 7 V5.x from an MS Excel 2003 table”. Perhaps it could be meanful for you.

Have you taken a look at the references?  If your missing the Microsoft Common Dialog Control (SP3) you need to install this file comdlg32.ocx into the Windows/syswow64 folder and register it.  You need to register as an admin.  Run cmd as admin and then run "regsvr32  %Systemroot%\System32\comdlg32.ocx" from the syswow64 folder.  Then in references Tool>references>browse find the file and select it and add it.  It should now load the Microsoft Common Dialog Control (SP3). Then it should be happy.  Open up your excel program again.  

If you saved your excel program it would have removed the reference to the library and then the object on the Forms would have been removed.  Now you need to find the original file.
