 am working on s7 1214c dc/dc/rly 214-IHG31-0XB0 model and i want to update the firmware to 3.0 in TIA .currrently the plant is running with a program. without changing or deleting this program i want to update the firmware and modify it. kindly help me for this????

kindly send me a pdf or file or link  for the procedure of firmware update......its very important.

I suggest you see my earlier answer to your question [LINK].

You cannot update FW3.0 to anything worth while.
FW4.0 is brand new hardware.

You have received this information from other friends already:
THAT model of PLC cannot be upgraded to anything else

Let me explain..
FW3.0  (designated by "31" in the part number) has different hardware as the versions before and versions that came after. Although we say "firmware" it is in the case of the S7-1200 not only software that can be loaded but the version also designate hardware changes.

You have x3 hardware "islands" -
1. FW1.0 - FW2.2 
2. FW3.0.0 - FW3.0.2
3. FW4.0.0 - FW4.1.1

You cannot jump (forward) between the "islands".  Example FW2.0 PLC can be updated to FW2.2, but then it reaches its group's ceiling. In your case the change for FW3.0 is so small, it is not worth the effort.

With all firmware updates, you have a reason to update to another firmware version: "I want to update my PLC to firmware version xxx to get the functionality of xxxx." If there is no such reason, then it is not worth doing the update.
