Fm350-2 ???????

sm123 Posts: 6 Rating: (0)	We are using FM 350-2 (6ES7 350-2AH00-0AE0) in one of our project where are using all the eight (8) channels for the Period duration measurement function. Our application requires that we should get the data of all the 8 channels from FM updated in less time than the scan time of the PLC (CPU 317 2PN/DP). My query are as follows: 1) Which way we need to access the FM - BY Direct accesss (through peripheral address) or BY Calling Blocks FC-2 (CNT2_CTR) FC-4 (CNT2_RD). 2)What's the update rate in each of the access method ? 3)Can we read all the 8 channels simultaneously in each of the access method ? ptamas Advanced Member Joined: 5/7/2007 Last visit: 3/10/2023 Posts: 10 Rating: (1)	Hi! You need FC4 for reading the actual values. Job 100 for counter values 0-3 and job 101 for counter values 4-7. You can call FC4 in every cycle, but you have to watch the busy signal. I think you cannot read all 8 channel in one cycle :( You need to read the 0-3 channels first after that (busy signal is false) the 4-7 channels. The execution times are in the manual of the FM card. If such a limitation is there .............................. Can i read 0 to 3 channels through job 100 &4 to 7 channels through Peripherals address? (it depends on time it uses to perform read job. But you can try it, be sure readjob is ended before starting new one) It is possible to read jpbnr. 100 and use Periferie addresses to read other channels. (but remember it all depends on countervalues of channels.) You can read 4 words, that can be low word or high word of Channel.
