So you can't project a redundant conection with CP1612 and S7-400H. But you can project two conections, one with each CPU, like with 2 independents PLCs.

J_Bell Posts: 5822 Rating: (412)	Hello SM, If you do not plan on using a redundant connection in-between your PC and the PLC you can have a usual S7 Connection of SEND / RECEIVE Connection. The only thing you have to know is that this connection is down if the CPU you are connected to is not the Master CPU. The use of S7-REDCONNECT is not possible because this SW works only with CP 1613. Best regards J_Bell

J_Bell Posts: 5822 Rating: (412)	Hello SM, I think this should not be a big issue. You can configure more than one Connection with the CP 1612, or any other NDIS NIC. The real issue is to figure out, within your PC, which PLC Subsystem is right now the Master. This is tricky. Best regards J_Bell

J_Bell Posts: 5822 Rating: (412)	Hello SM, if you connect each CP 1613, CP 1612 will not work here, with a cross over cable to one CP in each CPU this should work. The issue why the CP 1612 can only be plugged once here is the SIMATIC NET driver. If you want to use two NIC’s you will have to use the CP 1613 together with its S7 Driver. The alternative would be the use of one CP 1612 with Switches but, as said the thing would still be to figure out which one of the CPUs is active right now. REDCONNECT does this for H-Systems like the S7 417-H. Best regards J_Bell
