J_Bell Posts: 5822 Rating: (412)	Hello, the S5 CP 143 is only able to run ISO Transport Protocol or also the TF Protocol, depending on the Versions of the CP. Both Protocols use MAC Addresses. The only S5 CP that does use IP Addresses is the CP 1430 TCP. Best regards J_Bell

color Posts: 8 Rating: (0)	Thank for the reply. I'm using a 3com network card (3c905b-tx) to communicate thru the H1 protocol. So can i just use the MAC address for the communication, without installing any tcp/ip protocol. For your information i'm doing this for a CEMAT station communicating with S5 plc.

J_Bell Posts: 5822 Rating: (412)	Hello, I admit, I am not that deep into CEMAT but I think you can use SIMATIC NET driver for SOFTNET S7 too. They contain the ISO Transport Protocol stack too. So you can even work with OPC or direct, if it is WinCC based. Best regards J_Bell
