How to evaluate connection status with PLC in TP700?

I am helpless - I haven't find any VBscript function, object property etc. What I would like to do is to disable some buttons and screens access in case when TP700 han no connection to the PLC. Thanks for any idea traper66 Hello trapper66, Activate the system events and you will get the 140000 - Connection alarms as shown here If you want life bit of HMI in PLC then for S7-300 / S7-400 - "Coordination" area pointer S7-1200 - Area pointer "Coordination"

trapper66 Regular Member Joined: 6/7/2012 Last visit: 3/11/2024 Posts: 12 Rating: (2)	Hi Ganes10, Thank you for your advice - a man is still learning Two more questions follow: 1) If I can assign a script to the incoming event, how can I find out, which of connection lines triggered the event (PROFIBUS and ETHERNET in my case)? 2) The alarm texts in the System events list are defined with parameters (%1 etc.). How do I recognize, what the parameters mean and how can I read them if the event comes? Thank you once again. trapper66

But detection of loosing ONLINE connection works the strange way. I have tested both the examples: The first example every 1 minute announciates OFFLINE status for 1 second. If I unplug the PROFIBUS and/or the ETHERNET cable, the response depends on the current cycle of 1 minute scheduler and in the worst case I must wait nearly whole 1 minute to see the status change. The second example works better, but it is also not able to say, which of the connections raised the event 140000 or 140001. Official statement of Siemens Technical Support is, that they think there is no way to reliably detect the ONLINE/OFFLINE status for several connections separately. They suggested saving the event log or PING results to file and cyclically read records and make some parsing Thank you once again. The very sad trapper66
