The profinet configuration on the s7-1200 plc in your project needs to be on the same profinet subnet as your existing s7-300/400 devices so they can communicate. Look at the put/get documentation for the s7-1200. I have not had to integrate into an existing subnet, but your suggestion sounds reasonable if you can set up the dummy hardware to mimic your existing controller(s) and set up the connection details that way with any required manual adjustments. If you get frustrated, just email Support Requestand see if they can send you a white paper or sample s7-1200 project and ask if they are creating a FAQ that would solve your kind of problem. |

Hello Dolf you only touch one PLC and use an "unspecified connection" which in your caseis a unilaterally configured one(it is only configured in one PLC, the partner PLC acts as a Server and does NOT have a connection configured for this link). Thereafter youprogrameGET/PUT in the PLC where you set up the connection. The one and only thing you need to do in the partner PLC is to make sure it has theDB's in it that you want to "get" from and "put" into. Have a look at How do you configure a specified and an unspecified S7 connection for data exchange between S7-300 and/or S7-400 as well as What differences are there when configuring S7 connections? for all the details on this. I hope this helps |
