How to run S7-1500 with pwm drive at 200hz

Hello experts, i have a s7-1500 CPU1511-1PN and i have planned to drive PWM on channel 0 at 200hz. The output modue i have is DQ 8X24VDC/2A HF (6ES7 522-1BF00-0AB0). 

I have read in this forum about TM, PULSEGEN and PID blocks. But i just want to control the output range of the pwm from 0-100%. Do i need to hardware configure the cpu? Which block is the easiest to use? and what is the output value range?

Thank you for replying, but I cant really get it to work. Ive wired up a potentiometer to change the setpoint in the PID_Compact as you see in one of the pictures above and set the output to PWM. Output_PWM is set to Q0.0 (in the pic it says Q64.1, but this was changed to Q0.0).

I also added pics from the setup of the module. Hopefully everything is as it should.

Simplest solution:

1. Hardware configuration for DQ 8x24 HF module on S7-1511C-1 PN
2. Configure Pulse_1 (default name)
3. General -> Operating Mode -> PWM
   
4. Hardware inputs/outputs -> Pulse Output (DQA) -> X11, Clamp 21 (DQ0/Qn.0), high-speed output unchecked
5. Wire PWM output to terminal normally associated with Qn.0
6. Parameters -> Output format -> S7 analog output, pulse duration min=0, Period=xxx µs
7. Note the configured I/O address for Input & Output addresses, with the default set for 108-111 for Input, and 78-89 for Output.
8. Configure PLC tags for range 78-89 per F1-Help for PWM on S7-1511C (as shown in links from prior posted replies).

In Portal's F1-help, use the search area, search "basic principles of pulse output (Compact CPU) (S7-1500)".  If you refer to Section 4.2.2 Address space operating mode pulse-width modulation of the previously referenced manual, you can read up all about the meaning and capabilities provided by those I/O addresses.

For the 0-100% PWM output control, that is QB78==16x01; QB79==16x00; QW80=0-1000 (for 0.0 to 100.0%, with 1 implied decimal).  All other Q bytes from 82..89 will be ignored (if only Pulse_1 is enabled).  To enable more, read up in that referenced documentation for details.

Then in your PLC code, first scan logic set QB78 = 16x01, QB79=16x00, and in regular PLC logic, simply MOVE some value from 0 to 1000 into QB80, where 1000 = 100.0% PWM duty cycle (according to the hardware configuration set in [6] above).

If your S7-1511 does not offer PWM outputs, ignore everything above - except possibly for future reference.

In that case, you are, as they say in the microcontroller world, bit-banging to achieve your desired outcome, with all the inherent instabilities and inconsistencies that can cause if the device receiving PWM signals strictly adheres to some very tight specifications or standards.
