How upload a S7-1200 program in STEP 7 V11 SP2

Hi,

are you sure that your PLC was really made in V12? (it was not config in V10.5, 11 or 13)?

Perhaps you need V11 without SP2, though that was so buggy, I would hope not.

You cannot upload from a PLC loaded with V11.

When you go online with the PLC, what part # & firmware are shown for the PLC?

If you create a new project, add that exact PLC and firmware, then use the online access to drag in OB1, does portal V11 allow you to do that?  If so, drag all the other blocks (OBs, FCs, FBs, DBs), drag in the tags, and anything else you can access with drag and drop.

Save the project!!!

Now go offline and add all hardware to match the hardware you see in the physical system.  You will probably have to pop them from the din rail (powered off of course) to peek at the exact part #'s.

After that, look at the schematics and configure according to any notes, connected field devices that show you anything other than default configuration.

For example, high speed counter inputs rather than normal digital inputs.

Now, save the project.....  Motto for 11 is Save often and pucker up just a little while doing so.

Now close the project.

In windows explorer, make a backup copy of the project.  Windows explorer will not crash making a copy whereas Portal just might.

Open the project and "File -> Save As", something like "Reconstructed Project #####_V11.ap11" or something you know means this is not the original project.

Right click PLC in project tree -> Compile hardware (rebuild all), then similarly, Compile software (rebuild all).

Now you can upgrade to V15 in steps if you need.

I face with the same issue: I try to upload the software from an S7-1214 CPU, but without any result. I tried all solutions that I found onto forum:

1. I installed last update for TIA V11 (update 5) - TIA it crashing when I try to make upload from CPU

2. Trying to upload the software by making hardware configuration before to go online - TIA keeps crashing when upload is starting

3. Trying to upload the software using "unspecified CPU variant" + Drag and Drop program blocks from online CPU to offline Project - TIA keeps crashing

4. Trying to upload the software from CPU with TIA V13 using "unspecified CPU variant"; I received this error: The block can only be edited with STEP 7 V11.

I want to mention that I don't have a copy of the project in my PC. When I go in online mode, even if I made HW Config before / even if I go online with "unspecified CPU variant", in all cases I can see all blocks but I can' t open all blocks - when I try to open some specific blocks, I receive the same error  - The application has encountered a problem and needs to close.

What else can I do? It is some steps that I missed during my attempts?
