IM 155-6 MF HF simulation

AutoGen_8650826 Posts: 3 Rating: (0)	Hi All, I'm making a feasibility study on IM 155-6 MF HF (code: 6ES7155-6MU00-0CN0) configured with 2 digital input module (code: 6ES7131-6BH01-0BA0). I should read input register via modbus TCP. For Modbus client side I read the application note "109808268_ModbusTCP_MF_DOC_V10_en" and used the Python code with pyModbusTCP library. Now, since I would like to anticipate the test with IM 155-6 MF HF before it arrive to me, I would like to know if are there some way to simulate the equipment (for example through TIA Portal and PLCSIM or other similar way)? Here are the general steps to do so: 1. Open TIA Portal and create a new project with your hardware configuration (including the IM 155-6 MF HF and digital input modules). 2. Create a new PLC program and configure it to read data from the input modules via Modbus TCP. 3. Download and install PLCSIM if you haven't already. 4. In TIA Portal, go to the "PLC" tab and select "PLCSIM". 5. Start PLCSIM and load the PLC program you created in step 2. 6. Configure the IP address of the simulated IM 155-6 MF HF to match your network settings. 7. Test your Modbus TCP client code with the simulated IM 155-6 MF HF. Keep in mind that the simulation may not be an exact replica of the actual equipment, but it should give you a good idea of how your code will interact with the IM 155-6 MF HF.

AutoGen_8650826 Posts: 3 Rating: (0)	Dear Madadi, thanks a lot for your prompt reply. I'm trying to following your suggested steps, but I have some issue to add the ET200SP. Particularly, TIA Portal allows me to choice only the version with CPU module (as you can see in attachment). Instead, I'm interested to IM 155-6 MF HF (part number 6ES7155-6MU00-0CN0 that is the multifield bus version) that is the version without CPU. Open the devices & networks view. Afterwards add the interface module from the hw-catalog (right side of monitor). But an IO-Device will need a IO-Controller to work. regards sancruz

please have a look into the technical data.

● STEP 7 TIA Portal configurable/integrated from version	via IM155-6PN/2 HF in compatibility mode
● STEP 7 configurable/integrated from version	via IM155-6PN/2 HF in compatibility mode
● PROFINET from GSD version/GSD revision	GSDML V2.3
● Multi Fieldbus Configuration Tool (MFCT)	from V1.3

Means you can use IM155-6PN/2 HF in hw config.

As an alternative, you can try the GSDML file. After installation the device are located in hw catalog folder "other field devices".
