Further more is it possible to configure IM308c on FMS DP instead of standard DP? |

Hello Raheel a Y-Link is definetely the way to go to link "single" DP Slaves (i.e. your S5 IM308C viaDP/DP coupler or directly asa DP Slave) to the redundant Profibus of a H System. A few things to note about the Y-link: First useable DP Slave Address is 3 (1 and 2 are taken up by the redundant IM153-2 pair) 244 Bytes of I/O and configuration data is the maximum forallDP Slaves together that are behind the Y-Linkand more "how to"infoabout it can be found in the manual below: Bus links DP/PA coupler, DP/PA link and Y link I hope this helps P.S: Just for completeness, FB192 can not be used if the IM308C is a DP Slave as far as I know (I never tried this though, but understand that it is designed to handle an IM308C which is setup to a DP Master). |

Dear Fritz, Thankyou for the reply. I will go through the manual. In the mean time can you look on the possible configurations I have attached here and tell me if any of this is possible. Also I am attaching the S5 H module location in which I am going to install IM308Cs. By using DP/DP coupler I got success with single CPUs on both side using FB192 for master IM308c. Hello Raheel hmmm.., I must admit I missed the small but important"H" part of your S5 155, which makes your endavoura tadbit more "interesting" so let's see what can be done in this case.
Not too sure about this, all I can see isone CR(with some Digital I/O in the lower P area)and one ER(with Analogue I/O whichoccupies a fair chunk of the Q I/O area). Going by this, there's plenty of upper P area left though (Inputs Bytes 32-255 and Output bytes 24-255).
Number 1 &3 are not possible as far as I'm concerned and I'm not too sure about number 2. I've (thus far) never attempted what you are trying to do and urge you to have a good read through the FAQ's and manuals below to work out the best way forward: Use of IM 308C in Programmable Controller S5-155H/CPU 948R S5-155H Programmable Controller (CPU 948R / CPU 948RL) Volume 1/2 S5-155H Programmable Controller (CPU 948R) Volume 2/2 Perhaps not a bad idea to start evaluating and deciding first what type of avilability you need for the comms link between the two H systems.
