In my list of hardware does not have this option firmware (3.0.2) for CPU 6ES7 214-1AG31-0XB0 only 3.0

In my list of hardware does not have this option firmware (3.0.2) for CPU 6ES7 214-1AG31-0XB0 only 3.0. I can not dowload this cpu because there is a hardware error not compatible. What can I do? Software Step 7 Professional V12.

Software Step 7 Professional V12. The version numbering may not make sense, but here's how I think about it. M.m.p, e.g. M=3, m=0, p=2 means major revision 3, minor revision 0, point revision (bugfix) 2. Major revision means perhaps new hardware or at least very different set of capabilities. Minor revision means some minor enhancements made. Point revision means they fixed bugs for that Major/Minor revision. This is not from Siemens and is not 100% correct, but generally feels right. If you select FW 3.0, it is the same for all point revisions for 3.0.0..3.0.9. Hope this is useful.

Software Step 7 Professional V12. I am running Step 7 V12 SP2 and I am running into the same issue with a 1214c DC/DC/DC firmware 3.0. I can see it on the network, and I can connect to it, but I get the same "PLC not compatible" and it drops the connection, sort of. Often times the "Go Online" and "Go Offline" buttons are clickable at the same time after I try to connect and get dropped, suggestion some type of communication limbo. I have checked my hardware config, and it matches the PLC part# and firmware version. When I click on help, it tells me the error is due to something like configuring the software for a s7-300 and trying to connect to a 1200, but this is simply not the case. As far as I can tell, the software description and the physical hardware match soup to nuts. I have attached a screen shot of the software right after I attempt to connect; notice the go online and go offline are both selectable. Strange. Anyone have any ideas? Hello ScottWilliam, It is possible to have a scenario where the Go online as well as the Go offline are active at the same time. But it depends on your selection. For example if you are already online with a PLC and if you are working on a different editor this is likely to happen. Is this a new PLC where you are trying to download your program blocks + configuration or a PLC which you are just trying to go online with? Also post the screenshot of this "configuring the software for a s7-300 and trying to connect to a 1200".

I don't know if I have misconfigured communication; I thought that would cause a different type of error. I might just load up the v03.00.02 ROM and see if that changes anything. Oh, it is a new PLC, but I was able to configure it with a new IP address. The device is in stop mode with no other warning lights present. My PLC program is a conversion project from an S7-200 and it isn't quite ready to load onto the 1200 just yet. I wanted access to the PLC so I could play around with a few ideas I had with regard to the conversion, but so far, no luck. Attachment captureerror.JPG (220 Downloads)

Are you able to detect the CPU in that window?

It would help if you could post a small piece of your project, especially the hardware configuration. A simple way I find is to save my current project as a new project, like "MyProject_Hardware" using the default project details into it's own new folder. Open that project and remove anything you would not want shared online (custom datatypes, watch tables, documentation, OBs/FBs/FCs, external source files, HMI configuration, and so on). Now compile your hardware, compile your software using rebuild all. One last step before posting online. Try to download to your plc and see what it says. Post the results with your uploaded project (in zip format of the entire folder). Then other forum userscan download that same project, load to a similar PLC, or perhaps discover some setting that is interfering.
