In PCS7, STEP7 USER RIGHTS PROBLEM?

samkcr Bronze Member Joined: 3/24/2009 Last visit: 8/7/2023 Posts: 406 Rating: (3)	Hi, I installed PCS7 V8.0 in my IPC that was working fine. I took a image of that using imagex software. Then i reapplied the image to the IPC. Now i am not able to open STEP 7. It is giving error msg " your users didnt include the use of step7" (code no 256:131)I am using OS windows 7SP1.I checked the rights it is quite fine.Then i am doing these things in administrator login only So what may be the problem?

Are you logged in as the Administrator? Are you aware of any errors during your Image back up or restore? I have not used imagex before.

Silent Bob Posts: 836 Rating: (100)	Did you change the hardware of the IPC? Did you change the computer name? Anyways.... did you change anything? Maybe you could try to reapply the Rights with Simatic Security Controller (Srtart > Siemens Automation > Security Controller).

Before taking image it was working fine... The problem is after applying the image i am facing the problem..I cant figure it out... But the same procedure i did for other IPC the same problem occurs with that IPC also... But this problem occurs only for ES stations(Pcs7).... OS stations are all fine with the same procedures...

Silent Bob Posts: 836 Rating: (100)	This is really strange... Maybe something went wrong while taking the image. Did you try to reapply the rights again with Security Controller? If this doesn't work you could try to reinstall PCS 7 to the System...

Silent Bob Posts: 836 Rating: (100)	... You told us, this happend on two independent ES....But you Users and Groups in Windows are ok, you didn't change anything and it worked fine before... Do you have all licences? Maybe you removed them before? If nothing is helping you could either contact the Siemens Customer support or just reinstall you IPCs. Almost forgot.. check out this thread looks like somebody else had the same problem with the same image SW...

I checked both step7 and wincc that is working fine.. After applied the image it is not working...That was my confusion.. I checked the settings that is fine... As described in the thread same issue only i am facing.. But there is no solution for that thread.. Any how i will try to reinstall But i am not sure the problem will get rectify

Silent Bob Posts: 836 Rating: (100)	In most case a reinstallation will solve the problem (complete reinstall including windows). I would suggest to use another image software the next time. I used Acronis years ago and it worked fine for me. Sorry we couldn'tsolve the problem. Good luck.
