Initialization window opens and closes

What versions and updates are already installed on your PC?  V17 update 5, TIA Admin V10 SP7?

If you do not already have V17 main install, update 6 will not install.  However, it should pop up and tell you that you need to install V17 full install before updating (patching) it.

Check the windows event logs, filtering the logs for just the time window of just prior to launching the install until maybe 1 minute after the window closes.

However, before doing that, restart your PC 2 times and try again.  The reason I say 2 times is that there are _some_ windows updates which require 1 restart to partially install and a 2nd restart to complete the install.  Pending installations of windows updates _can_ prevent Siemens software from installing.  However, generally in my experience Siemens software tells you to restart your PC and try again.

After 2 reboots, mark PC time (HH:MM) then launch portal installation.

After it fails, mark PC time (HH:MM).

Now open Windows Event Viewer (EVENTVWR.msc) using the same local admin account used to manually launch TIA Portal updates.

Look in the event logs, sorting by time (descending) and look for entries of why the installation is stopping.

You can also find the temp log in the local admin account's temp folder.  Easiest way to access it is to login with that account, launch explorer, and in address bar type: %temp% {and then press enter}

An alternative approach: in "type here to search" box, type explorer.exe and right-click to run as administrator.  Use the same local admin account used to install the updates.  Now use the above %temp% method in the address bar.

I think you may find some answers.

What version of Windows are you running?  Win10/11 Enterprise?

I have the same problem, I downloaded the files from the Siemens site when I try to install it the initialization window opens and closes and nothing more.... whether with TIA v17 update 6 or TIAAGMIN_V10_Sp8 or TIA updater toolV2.5 sp 5
