I had the exactly the same issue. Make sure that you run the automation license manager and the TIA portal always as Administrator.

If you right-click on the shortcut and go to the file location where the application is installed. You can then right.click on it, select properties and go to the compatibility section. There it is possible to check a "Run as administrator" box.

Dear All,

I have tried installing TIA13 SP1 with update8 in windows10 professional 64bit Operating system.

After installing this I am getting same error mentioned in screenshot above.

My ALM services running fine.

I request you to plz guide us how to overcome with this issue.

Look likes Microsoft was changed something in 

Here is step by step how to solve this problem.

Right click on TIA portal link and choose "Open File Location"

then right click on real TIA portal exe file and choose Properties

Then switch to Compatibility Tab and in bottom need to place X in "Run as Administrator"

After this allways TIA portal will run with Administrator rights and there will be no problems with Automation License manager anymore.

 Hi,

I too had this exact same problem and running TIA Portal as an administrator did solve it.

However, running as an administrator created another problem ..... when I browse to open a project I cannot see any of my mapped drives, only C:\ and my DVD drive (plus the usual My Documents etc)

I can see them in Windows explorer just not through TIA Portal. If I do NOT run as an administrator I can see the mapped drives but cannot open and screens or blocks in the project as the original problem for this thread.

Could it be to do with TIA Portal changing my user type to 'Siemens TIA Engineer' when it installed?
