Is it possible to update Node.js in order to update Node-RED?

to update your Node.js version to a specific version on our images, you can use the Node Version Manager (NVM). Here's how to do it:

1. Install NVM:

   curl -o- https://raw.githubusercontent.com/nvm-sh/nvm/v0.38.0/install.sh | bash

2. Reboot IOT2050
3. List all available Node.js verions:

   nvm ls-remote

4. Install the specific Node.js version you want (e.g.,14.18.1):

   nvm install 14.18.1

5. Set the newly installed version as the default one for your IOT2050:

   nvm alias default 14.18.1

6. Validate your work:

   node -v

For NodeRED, one can try the following:

1. Stop NodeRED:

   systemctl stop nodered

2. Update Node-RED to the desired version (e.g. 2.1.4):

   sudo npm install -g --unsafe-perm node-red@2.1.4

3. Check your work:

   node-red --version

4. Start NodeRED and check for issues in the terminal log:

   node-red start
