Hello Hussein, [snip]
[snip] 4- Strange question! I will try to answer as far as I seem to understand your question. First there's no 418. The 400H family has 412H,414H,416H and 417H as PLCs and 410H as DCS controller. It all started with 417-4H in late 90s then 414-4H in early 2000 then 412-3H in 2007. These were the early developments. Now the latest release is V6.xx CPUs (412-5H, 414-5H, 416-5H and 417-5H). All V6.0 CPUs have been released together. And if you meant 416 instead of 418, then the 416-5H is the latest controller in the family of 400H controllers. But just keep in mind, latest doesn't meant the most powerful. What really differs is how powerful the CPU is and whether it really covers the application or not. I've seen many crazy projects utilizing 417 CPU for two standard IO racks. Aside from chronological order of CPU release, this is the order of CPUs (Aside of DCS controller 410H) in terms of processing power, memory and IO capacity. 1- 417-5H (Most powerful for large scale projects) 2- 416-5H 3- 414-5H 4- 412-5H (least memory size) Once again, you have to pick the suitable CPU for your application, not the most powerful and not the latest. If you have process application where only redundant controllers are required, then you can go with S7-1500H despite what Siemens says or what you can read in marketing materials. [snip] If you still need more information like brochures and catalog, you have to contact with your local Siemens office. Best regards, H-H |
