No I have not done the first step tutorial. Can you please point me to the link.
All I have is some hands on experience with Omron and AB Ladderlogic software.

and finally, there are some official publications for different types of controllers in TIA environment.They discuss both Hardware and software (but mainly focus on Software) and a great amount of useful data provided for SCL.I never suggest buying those bulky books only for a chapter on SCL.
