Hello, Besides what has been mentioned by Juergen,SCL is very similar to "STRUCTURED TEXT" programming language in Rockwell Software range of product.Genrally, it is possible to convert 1:1 SCL codes to their RS equivalent for controllers such as ControlLogix 5000.It will help if you have a basic knowledge in RS side. We have discussed these issues several times. In this DISCUSSION ,you will find all necessary data regarding SCL programming language for S7-1200 controllers.
and finally, there are some official publications for different types of controllers in TIA environment. They discuss both Hardware and software (but mainly focus on Software) and a great amount of useful data provided for SCL.I never suggest buying those bulky books only for a chapter on SCL.
