Hi Owei, Could you please tell me the difference between a Linear and a Circular polarization for an Antenna of FR600 system ? Thanks in advance |

I could, but there are other people doing this better than I could. In google search I've found a blog explaining this topic in an easy way in just a few words: To sum this up: If you want to read TAGs in a known and consistent orientation you will get the best results if you chose a linear antenna. Most linear antennas have their orientation labeled onto the housing. In this case you have to adjust the antennas orientation parallel to the tags orientation. If you don't know the TAGs orientation you should chose circular antennas to achieve the best results. Circular antennas have one or two circles labeled onto their housing. This method's disadvantage is a power loss due to splitting the RF field power into two orientations (= less range). But it is more likely to be able to read the TAGs in all of their orientations. Also you don't have to worry about the antenna adjustment too much. These theories apply to all UHF RFID systems. Hope this helps. Regards |

Well, it depends on the antenna power and physics and it varies with antenna types. For RF600 antennas have a look at the RF600 system manual: |

Hello z.bolbol; I doubt you will find such spatial dimensioning for the RF640A antenna radiation pattern.. Usually these are given if degrees vs dB (transmitted power) patterns, as you will find here; SIMATIC Sensors RFID Systems SIMATIC RF640A Hope this helps, Daniel Chartier |
