Modbus communication via ET200S CM PtP module

Wim_E Posts: 3 Rating: (0)	Hi, I've searched the forum, but didn't find a solution yet ... . I'm using a S7 1500 CPU which is connected to a ET200SP island via ethernet cable. The ET200S has a CM PtP module. The module has to communicate with an external controller (DEIF) via modbus RS485. I've used block "Modbus_Comm_Load" (in OB100) to specify the configuration of the CM PtP module and the "Modbus_Master" block to specify the communication parameters. (In the attachement a screenshot of the two blocks) The communication isn't working and the "modbus_master" block returns error codes 7001, 7002 and 8281. I can't seem to find where I can specify the "data bits" and the "stop bits". I'm using TIA Portal V13. Kind regards! Wim Attachment CM_PtP.zip (552 Downloads)

Regarding stop bit etc.: Either you use the configuration in the properties of the CM PtP (in the hardware configuration) or you can use the Port_Config/Send_Config/Receive_Config functions. But with the functions I am not sure what happens when you are afterwards calling the Modbus_Comm_Load. So: Either test it or stay with the hardware configuration of the CM PtP.

Wim_E Posts: 3 Rating: (0)	Thank you for the response! I'm using a ET200SP. In the attachement the topology view and the configuration of the two devices. The modbus_comm_load seems to be OK and response with done. I can not change the stop bits with the configuration. Wim_E Posts: 3 Rating: (0)	Hi Fafner, I allready found this example, but if I'm correct it is for a communication between a CM PtP module on the 1500 and a CM PtP module on the ET200SP. It requires a Master block in the 1500 and a Slave block in the ET200SP I only have a CM PtP module on the ET200SP and it has to communicatre with a DEIF controller. I can't put a slave block in this controller, I know the adress of the controller is 3 and I know which modbus adresses I have to read. The PLC allready uses modbus TCP/IP with other DEIF controller and this works perfect. Kind regards, Wim

It is necessary that the S7-1500 communicates with ET200SP, ET200 It has a communication module CM PtP, it works as a master and communicates with slaves over the modbus RS485. I'm talking about a TX led but when I reach voltage at terminals 12 and 14 days = + -0,125V. In DB "Modbus_Comm_Load_DB" I selected Mod 4 (RS485)
