Almost irrelevant? Hmmm... I guess I was attempting to figure out how to minimize the operator's need to update the clock. The machine of which this system is partis involved in shift work. I know well that I can sync one to the other, but whether I sync the HMI to the PLC or vice versa really depends on which is more accurate. Thanks, Captive Engineer |

My guess is that info is only available from siemens tech support. In my experience plcs are more accurate and almost always used as the master. |

If your PLC has an ethernet card and can reach a NTP server; then you can sync the clock in the PLC with that server and then sync the clock in the panel with the PLC. Otherwise I think the PLC clock is more accurate. For more information: https://support.automation.siemens.com/WW/llisapi.dll/17990844?func=ll&objId=22680399 |

Not with S7-200. Do you have some SCADA/Sync device (like GPS syncro station) or something else, that could provide time syncronization? Guess MP370 has better time accuracy than 7 minutes/month. |
