Hello mihesper; Faribirzm provides an example of a Profinet ring connecting S7 CPUs to a S7-400H system in this dicussion: If you wish to study this type of application further, I can suggest the following Application Note: - Configuration Examples for S7-400H with PROFINET SIMATIC S7-400H as of V6.0 https://support.industry.siemens.com/cs/ww/en/view/90885106 Hope this helps, Daniel Chartier |

Hello mihesper; If all you sant is to connect your S7 CPUs over their Profinet port, then you do not need to purchase CP 443-1 modules, as you can see in the documents proposed. This will be true for S7-1500, S7-1200, S7-3000/400 models with a Profinet interface. About yur other questions, please indicate where exactly you "found out" the information you shared, it is not exactly accurate. A) As soon as you have setup an IP address on your profinet prt, you will be ble to downlod to the CPU it is attached to. There are tools available for this, such as Proneta (for S7-1500 and ET 200SP CPUs): https://support.industry.siemens.com/cs/ww/en/view/67460624 B) I do not knpw what problems you could have with monitoring on the Profinet port of your CPUs, either. Again, look at the document proposed earllier to see how the comms between a S7-400H system and the connected CPUs can be achieved. Hope this helps, Daniel Chartier |
