Hi, could you help me with my installation of TIA Portal v15.1 on windows 11 ARM through Parallels? I'm currently getting errors while installing namely :
23:58:35 | FAIL! SetupUnit (MSMQ_Activation_Workstation)Failed Foreign AddLocal 23:58:35 | OK SetupUnit (DotNet_Updater) Complete Foreign AddLocal 23:58:36 | FAIL! Checkpoint (RE) Complete 23:58:36 |ERROR ExecutionEngine::StartNextStepAsync(): - Execution has been cancelled. Probably because of some process(es) running on the machine about the MSMQ, I've read that you cannot activate it in windows 11 ARM, sou how can I get around it? Any help would be appreciated ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ |

Hi AutoGen_4604575, First, let me tell you that for Windows 11 the V15.1 software is not released. Therefore, installation is not possible. The TIA Portal software that is released for Windows 11 is from version V17. For that reason you are not being able to install it.

Hi,
This information is wrong. Step 7 V15.1 is released for Windows 11 Pro Version 22H2 and 21H2 and also these Enterprise Version. So please check http://www.siemens.com/compatool I think the problem is the ARM - Version! You need an intel processor. Regards, |

Is it only v15.1 that you've had issues with? It seems this is due to .NET Framework requiring MSMQ, and the v15.1 installer specifically activating (or attempting to activate) this feature to use this messaging functionality. More recent versions of .NET Core have a replacement for the MSMQ usage. If recent TIA Portal versions (i.e. v16, v17, v18, v19) have entirely moved away from .NET Framework, then you might be in the clear for usage of these more modern versions. You could try to work out in what manner the Siemens installer is detecting that it needs to do the MSMQ activation, and hack it so that it looks like MSMQ is activated. |
