negative edge?

i have very simple question that i couldn't find an answer for it. i was programming a sequence of events, when i reached the point where i need to use a negative edge or "falling edge" because i want the action to happen after the object across the sensor, not at the beginning or during, but after crossing the sensor. i hope i made it clear enough.
