russ1669 Posts: 5 Rating: (0)	Hi All, I am trying to create a system with 30 outputs. I thought this was possible with 2 OBA7's networked together, but it doesn't seem to work if the units are slaved - I got this working now. Had a problem with my ip addreses on the network output blocks The screen on my slave unit doesn't show the display from my program. Is this normal? I am linking the two units together using a standard ethernet cable. Does it have to be a reverse connection cable for direct connection? - The standard cabe is OK One last question, I read that having blocks with nothing conected to the output is no good, and can cause problems. is this correct, and if so, how do I store variables thatcan used by other blocks as reference? desmul24 Posts: 378 Rating: (73)	Hello russ1669 , In order to make bidirectional communication, you need to setup a single device as a Server and Client. On you logosoft goto Tools>Ethernet Connections and right click Ethernet Connections>Add Connection then setup a proper IP adresses. For your Last Question: You can not make a connection not connected to "Output". Output on this context means DI/DO/AI/AO/Digital Flag/Analog Flag/... but if you need to store values to be read and write via network you can use Parameter mapping.
