Hello espwii; Based on the following document, it seems that OLMs in redundant ring formation do not appreciate physical interruptions. In their case they discuss the fiber cables disconnection, in your case you remove the PLC on the RS-485 side of the OLM, but the reaction seems the same: Redundancy with optical ring (two-fiber ring) in the case of short interruption The only thing I could suggest for your casewould be to test the removal of the PLC while an active terminator is in the circuit, powered with 24 V DC. This would allow the disconnection of the PLC while maintaining the termination of the RS-485 section, and would not affect the integrity of the OLM rings. Hope this helps, Daniel Chartier |
