xhnr Posts: 29 Rating: (0)	Hello, I have a problem with my OP73, I tried to download my program into the OP, but it asked me to update the Operating System so I did, but after restart on screen appears only this text message: This device contains Free software, see Info/Settings for details. I have USB/MPI cable. So I tried to redownload, but I coudn't. I ask you gently to help me what to do. Thank you.

xhnr Posts: 29 Rating: (0)	One more thing I forgot to mention that I couldn’t backup license. I have a CD that says: Licenses and Open Source Software used in this product. So do you have any idea?

Try to perform an OS update with the option "Reset to factory settings" how do you do an operating system update (OS update) on operator panels? Best regards, Wizard

xhnr Posts: 29 Rating: (0)	Dear Wizard, Thank you for your reply. My problem is that when I was asked to backup Licence, I didn't do so. And I tried to make some OS updates, but after about three tries I got this message on screen of my OP73: "This device contains Free Software, see Info/Settings for details." and it stays in screen, nothing else happens. If you want I can send picture how it looks in OP73. This was my first experience with OP73, for that reason I made these mistakes. So, do you have any suggestion. Thank you.

xhnr Posts: 29 Rating: (0)	Hello, I have attached screenshot how it looks like. It stays only in that state as you can see from attachment. During my first steps I have used this cable 6ES7 972-0CB20-0XA0, and it is the only cable that I have for programmming PLC, HMI, etc. As I said earlier it was my first experience with OP73,and also generaly with HMI. So I tried with WinCC Flexible to download a simple program. After that it asked me to upgrade operating system, so I tried but my WinCC Flexible was older, and OS in OP73 was newer, so I tried to download older OS into OP73, it asked me to save Licence and other relating things but I didn't do so. Then I tried to redownload OS, nothing happend. There is only that screen appearing (in attachment). So do you have any idea. Do I need to buy new licence for OP73 or another cable for programming. As Wizard mentioned the only things is to use option "Reset to factory settings". Unfortunately for that you cannot use all the communication connections and cables. For OP73 is available only RS232/PPI Multi-master cable (6ES7 901-3CB30-0XA0) and USB/PPI Multi-master cable (6ES7 901-3DB30-0XA0). If you use one of these cables only there (for example in Prosave) "Reset to factory settings" check box is displayed. Best regards, Hristo Mihalev

When you look in earlier link, the PC-MPI cable is not released for project transfer. I think at the moment, the panel does not have a complete Operating System and therefore the cable you have can not connect. xhnr And my last answer is what abou that thing called 'Licence' do I need to buy or just by making new download with USB to PPI cable it is going to work. You do not need "License" an OS update will do the trick. Best regards, Wizard
