Hello jitu; P and Q areas were addressing pages used in S5 PLCs to extend the addressing range of those CPUs. At that time, memory was expensive and bulky, and it was necessary to use programming tricks to extend their availability.Maybe you remember that DOS did the same to overcome the 64K limit on computer RAM. In S7 CPUs, there is no longer use for P and Q areas, so the terms are not used anymore. Is this an S5 to S7 conversion problem? In this case maybe the following FAQ has a solution for you: http://support.automation.siemens.com/WW/view/en/1995028 If the source of the message is not from a S5 to S7 conversion problem, could you please give more details? Like the code of the block that is being pointed oput by the compiler? Hope this helps, Daniel Chartier |
