PC configuration for S7 AS414-4-2H

Sinewbie Posts: 11 Rating: (0)	Dear Experts I am configuring a S7414-4-2H system. I've read manual but I've been afraid of wrong configuration. My config for PC side: Hardware:+ 01 PC (standard PC) + 01CP 1613 A2 PCI card (6GK1 161-3AA01) + 01ESM ITP80 (6GK1 105-3AA10) Software:+ WinCC V6.2 RC (6AV6381-1BN06-2AX0) + WinCC option Redundancy (6AV6371-1CF06-2AX0) + WinCC option Achive (6AV6371-1CB06-2AX0) + Redconnect software (6GK1716-0HB64-3AC0) I use Step7 5.4 Pro toprogramming PLC. Will above configuration work? Any input willbe appriciated!!!

Hi, The configuration is looking good,but why using the older ESM with ITP-connections, you can use the new Scalance equipment, for example the Scalance X208 (6GK5208-0BA00-2AA3) which have 8 * RJ45, you have no other on your choosen equipment. I think you didn't need the WinCC option Redundancy because you have no redundant server. Archive software is necessary to archive and depents on your customers wishes.

Then you also need a second CP1613A2 in your PC and of course a CP443-1 card in the second part of your S7-400H-system. Late Platinum Expert Joined: 1/7/2006 Last visit: 11/17/2023 Posts: 2705 Rating: (318)	Hi Smurf, Thats not really necessarry and only usefull when the customer have no trust in the ethernet cards, they could place the cards (2 * CP 443-1EX11 and the CP 1613 A2) in a ring. Then it is even possible to built two rings but normally the PC is the weakest link in the system and you have to make a redundant server-system to be there more redundant...

Hi,

That is possible, when you have the newest Scalance X200 switches then there is a redundancy manager in the switch (only in the newest !!), with that switches you can make a ring where all equipment could be coupled to.

{with the older ones you need a IRT-switch in the ring}.

The difference to one or two CP 1613 A2 is that you could make two seperated rings where all the equipment is devided from each other. It is also possible to use them both on one network, but then you trust the PC more then the network and the CP-card.
