PID SELF TUNER

PilotPM Posts: 23 Rating: (0)	Hi, I saw somewhere tools for tunning PID parameters. It connected to DB which belong to FB41/FB42/FB43. I don´t know, where it was and how to use, but if anybody know, could it to write about it (how it´s called and how to use it). It would be very useful. (I don´t know too, if it´s included in STEP7, or you have to buy new product) Thanks PilotPM

You can find the range of product here: http://support.automation.siemens.com/WW/view/en/10805417/133200 and the manuals here: http://support.automation.siemens.com/WW/view/en/10805417/133300 and sample examples here: PID Self Tuner: Example Adapted to Standard PID Control V5.1 Please read the manual carefully before even ordering the product.It is not really difficult to use but it is really tricky. If you follow the provided samples,CPU set the Tuner to manual. For the first optimization you set "Man_on" to "False" and "Adapt1st" to "True".Select proper set point and wait until the set point reached and analyze the parameters if they are satisfactory.Further optimization is possible by using "Adapt_on". I do not use TIA in the industry where I work Please , read more in Page#5 of the following manual.STEP 7 > 3.2 as the requirement of using this package is definetly a part of SIMATIC Manager (like the latest STEP 7 V5.5).Contact your SIEMENS local representative for more help regarding the product! PID Self-Tuner V5 Requirements The following requirements must be met: • You have an S7-300/400 station consisting of the power supply unit, a CPU, an analog input module and a digital output module. • STEP 7 ( ≥ V3.2) is installed on your programming device. • The programming device is connected to the CPU. • Standard PID Control V5 is installed on the programming device.

I used tune PID FB50 "TUN_EC" (self-tuning or adaptation of a continuous PID controller) library and PID control block FB41 "CONT_C". when i give SP and PV input value to PID block and enable input PID_on,STRUC_ON,ADAPT_ON. then set LLLM_TUN= 0.0, LHLM_TUN= 100.0, CYCLE= T#500MS and enable both PID block . Then continues show this value GAIN = 1.5, TI = 1h, TD= 0s. don't change any value after change the PV and SP. As per tune PID automatically set Gain,TI,TD value based on SP and PV difference. So after try alternate variation in configuration of PID then no any change
