Problem adding an interface for simadyn

NickeNyfiken Posts: 65 Rating: (1)	Hi After an harddiskcrasch im trying to fix the new PG (PC) Having trouble to insert the new interface for S7-Simadyn DUST1. Getting an error when trying to add theinterface. (see att). Don't understand what to do next. Connection to step7/graph is ok. But simadyn using Com 1 trough DUSt 1. We have an interface that works on other PG7PC. Any idé anyone?????????? Attachment inlopp.zip (258 Downloads)

If this happens after new installation of software, I think this is due to incompatibility of Step7 and D7-SYS versions. You need newer version of D7-SYS, e.g. hotfix or service pack.

miami Platinum Expert Joined: 8/31/2005 Last visit: 11/13/2024 Posts: 2198 Rating: (328)	To check if you have the matching versions of Step7, CFC and D7-SYS look here: http://support.automation.siemens.com/WW/view/en/22645302 If the versions are correct, you may try to use "C:\Program Files\Siemens\Step7\S7BIN\p7sdonlx.exe". This program overrides the settings in "Set PG/PC interface" for CFC. This will only help, if the driver is installed but can not be selected. Use "COMx" so set your interface. Setting"PG/PC" will restore the defaultbehaviour. Attachment STEP7_Compatibility_en[5].pdf (260 Downloads)

Navnag Platinum Member Joined: 11/21/2007 Last visit: 9/25/2024 Posts: 2325 Rating: (308)	Hi Is your PC/PG detecting a COM port ? ( COM1 , COM2 etc ) .. Pl Check your Dice Manager. Sometimes a Missing driver etc may cause this. DUST protocol cannot be selected in Set PG-PC Interface, if no COM port is available in the PC. Regards Navnag

CYTey Posts: 2 Rating: (0)	Hi NickeNyfiken! Wonder whether you have solved this problem already and what is the solution. I am having the exact same problem now and DUST1 just wouldn't install. My COM1 is detected and available. I've tried using the p7sdonlx but still doesn't work. I've also installed SP3 for my D7-SYS V6.2 but still the same problem. Any other ideas? Meanwhile, I've forwarded my problem to the hotline but am awaiting their response. Cal.

If you have Step7 V5.4 SP3, then you need hotfix 3 for D7-SYS V6.2 SP3, where this problem was fixed. To get hotfix contact the hotline.
